International Rubber Research and Development Board (IRRDB)

The IRRDB, established in 1960 following the merger of the International Rubber Regulation Committee and the International Research Board, is a global platform with participation from 23 member countries across six continents, dedicated to fostering collaborations among the natural rubber producing countries. The organization facilitates research, innovation and policy dialogue aimed at addressing challenges and advancing the development of Natural Rubber sector worldwide. Its key activities include the annual International Rubber Conference and high level governance meetings of Directors and Chief Executives of Rubber Research Institutions worldwide. Nigeria is a member of the International Rubber Research and Development Board (IRRDB), with RRIN serving as the statutory representative of the country on the Board.

Rubber Research Institute Of Nigeria (RRIN)

The Rubber Research Institute of Nigeria (RRIN) is a Federal Government parastatal under the Federal Ministry of Agriculture and Food Security, established through the Agricultural Research Institute Decree of 1973. The Institute is mandated to conduct research into the production and utilization of natural rubber (Hevea brasiliensis), gum arabic (Acacia spp.) and other latex bearing plants of economic importance and disseminating vital research information to stakeholders across the value chain.
